Welcome to Monocotype Foundry. This page is here to help you understand what you receive after purchase, how to install your fonts, and how to get started properly.

1. What You Will Receive

After completing your purchase, you will receive access to the font files covered by the license you selected. Depending on the product and the license type, your order may include one or more of the following:

  • Desktop font files
  • Webfont files
  • App or server-related files
  • License documentation
  • Additional files included with the product, if applicable

2. Font File Formats

The file formats you receive depend on the product and the license you purchase. Common formats may include:

  • OTF — commonly used for desktop installation
  • TTF — desktop font format supported by many systems
  • WOFF / WOFF2 — used for webfont embedding
  • Other formats if specified by the product or license

Please refer to the product description and your purchased license to confirm which files are included.

3. How to Install Fonts on Mac

  1. Locate the downloaded font files on your computer.
  2. Double-click the font file.
  3. A preview window will open in Font Book.
  4. Click Install Font.
  5. The font should now be available in compatible design software.

4. How to Install Fonts on Windows

  1. Locate the downloaded font files on your computer.
  2. Right-click the font file.
  3. Click Install or Install for all users.
  4. The font should now be available in compatible design software.

5. How to Use Webfonts

If your purchase includes webfont files, they can be embedded into your website using @font-face.

  1. Upload the webfont files to your server.
  2. Add the required @font-face rules to your CSS.
  3. Apply the font family to your website elements.

Please make sure your license covers web use before embedding webfont files on a website.

6. Basic Usage Notes

  • Make sure the font is used under the correct license.
  • Make sure the intended use matches the license you purchased.
  • Keep a backup of your purchased files in a safe place.
  • Restart your design software after installation if needed.

7. Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble using your fonts, please check the following first:

  • Make sure the files were fully downloaded.
  • Try reinstalling the font.
  • Restart the design software after installation.
  • Confirm that your system or browser supports the file format you are using.
  • Make sure the font license matches your intended use.
