Licensing / EULA

Effective Date: March 11, 2026

This page explains the general licensing terms for fonts purchased from Monocotype Foundry. By purchasing, downloading, installing, accessing, or using any font from Monocotype Foundry, you agree to the terms below.

Short license descriptions may already appear on individual product pages. This page is intended to make our licensing structure easier to understand, provide broader clarification, and explain the general limits of each license type.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing or using any Monocotype Foundry font, you confirm that:

  • you have read these terms,
  • you understand the license type you are purchasing,
  • you agree to use the font only within the scope of that license, and
  • you will contact us first if you are unsure whether your intended use is covered.

If you do not agree with these terms, you must not download, install, or use the font files.

2. Definitions

For the purpose of this page:

  • Font Software means the digital font files, webfont files, related font data, and any files supplied with the product.
  • Licensee means the person, company, studio, or organization purchasing or using the font under a valid license.
  • Desktop Use means use in desktop-based design software for creating static outputs such as logos, branding, print materials, presentations, or graphics.
  • Web Use means use of the font on websites through embedding methods such as @font-face or similar implementation.
  • App / Game Use means embedding the font into software, apps, games, or similar digital products.
  • Server Use means use of the font in server-based environments or systems where the font is hosted or served from a server infrastructure.
  • Broadcast Use means use in broadcast, streaming, motion, or similar media environments.
  • Corporate Use means broader internal or organizational use beyond the scope of smaller or standard licenses.

3. License Grant

All fonts sold by Monocotype Foundry are licensed, not sold.

When you purchase a font, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the font according to the license type you selected.

Your purchase does not transfer ownership of the font software or any intellectual property rights.

4. General License Types

4.1 Desktop License

A Desktop License is generally intended for standard design use in desktop applications, including logos, branding materials, social media graphics, printed materials, posters, presentations, and other static design work.

A Desktop License does not automatically include web embedding, app embedding, server use, broadcast use, or broader corporate usage.

4.2 Webfont License

A Webfont License is intended for embedding fonts on websites. This license is generally required if the font is used through @font-face, self-hosted webfont implementation, or similar website embedding methods.

4.3 Extended Webfont License

An Extended Webfont License is intended for broader or higher-scale web use beyond the standard Webfont License.

4.4 E-Pub License

An E-Pub License is intended for digital publishing use, including e-books and similar reading-based digital formats.

4.5 Extended License

An Extended License is intended for broader commercial use beyond standard desktop usage. The exact scope may vary depending on the product and intended use.

4.6 App / Game License

An App / Game License is intended for embedding fonts into mobile apps, desktop software, games, and other interactive products.

4.7 Server License

A Server License is intended for server-based use cases where the font is deployed, stored, processed, or served in a server environment.

4.8 Broadcast License

A Broadcast License is intended for broadcast or motion-related commercial use where that level of licensing is required.

4.9 Corporate License

A Corporate License is intended for wider internal or organizational use, especially where the font is used across a larger company, team structure, or broader operational scope.

5. Product-Specific Licensing

Some products may have a different or more specialized license structure depending on their category, technical nature, or intended usage. Where product-specific licensing notes are shown on the product page, those terms should be read together with this page.

6. What Your License Does Not Automatically Include

A license only covers the use case it was purchased for. For example:

  • a Desktop License does not automatically include Webfont use,
  • a Webfont License does not automatically include App / Game use,
  • a smaller license does not automatically cover broader corporate use, and
  • one license type does not automatically replace another when your project changes.

If your use expands, changes, or moves into another category, you may need an upgrade or an additional license.

7. Restrictions

Unless explicitly permitted by the license you purchased, you may not:

  • redistribute the font files,
  • resell the font files,
  • share the font files with unauthorized users,
  • upload the font files for public download,
  • modify the font and redistribute it as a separate product,
  • repackage the font as your own product,
  • claim ownership of the font software, or
  • use the font outside the scope of the purchased license.

8. Upgrades and Additional Licensing

You may need to upgrade or obtain an additional license if your usage grows beyond the original license scope, moves into web, app, game, server, broadcast, or wider commercial use, or expands into larger internal or organizational use.

If you are unsure whether your current license still covers your project, please contact us before proceeding.

9. Digital Delivery

Monocotype Foundry products are delivered digitally. Depending on the product and the purchased license, delivery may include font files, license documentation, and related digital assets included with the product.

It is the Licensee’s responsibility to keep downloaded files secure, maintain backups where appropriate, and ensure that access is limited to authorized users only.

10. Intellectual Property

All fonts, font software, names, artwork, and related materials remain the intellectual property of Monocotype Foundry unless otherwise stated. Your purchase gives you the right to use the font according to the purchased license. It does not transfer ownership of the font, its design, or its underlying intellectual property.

11. Refunds and Order Issues

Because font products are digital goods, purchases are generally considered final unless otherwise stated in our store policies. If you experience missing files, corrupted downloads, incorrect delivery, or technical issues related to the purchased files, please contact us and we will review the issue.

For store-level rules regarding refunds, payments, and general purchase conditions, please also refer to our Terms and Conditions and related store policies.

12. Termination

If you violate these licensing terms, Monocotype Foundry may terminate or revoke the relevant license. If a license is terminated due to misuse or breach of terms, you must stop using the font and remove the font files from your systems, projects, and environments where the use is no longer authorized.

13. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Font software is provided in good faith and is intended to function for its licensed use. However, Monocotype Foundry does not guarantee that the font software will be completely error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every technical environment.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Monocotype Foundry shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses resulting from the use or inability to use the font software.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of Indonesia, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

15. Contact

If you have questions about licensing, upgrades, or whether a specific use is covered, please contact us before purchasing or before expanding your usage through the Contact page.
